One Day, Zero Paper: How a Mid-Size Waste Operator Digitalized Its Dispatch

From 6:45 to 17:00: what a working day in a mid-size waste operation looks like when dispatch, drivers, yard, and invoicing share one system.

    6:45, Dispatch

This used to be a whiteboard with a phone ringing next to it, and the truth about the day lived in three heads. Today the day plan lives in the system: orders sorted by type, deliveries, swaps, collections, every tour with the containers that must be on the truck for it. Short-notice orders are dragged into a tour, and a batch action creates twenty similar orders in one step. The difference is not speed alone. It is that at 6:45, everyone sees the same thing.

On the Road: the Driver App as Data Capture on the Side

The driver works through the stops as always, except every step now documents itself along the way: arrival, photo, signature, done. If a material classification is wrong, the driver corrects it on site in the app, no call to the office. The weighing slip from the facility arrives digitally and attaches to the order before the truck is back on the road. No carbon-copy pad, no photo wallpaper in the phone storage, no open questions in the evening.

    14:30, Yard and Weighbridge

The same logic continues in the yard: arrivals are captured, container movements booked, the scale delivers its values straight into the system, including from certified hardware. Yard staff see what is still coming today, and dispatch sees what the yard can still absorb. Documentation is created as a byproduct of the work, not as an extra task after hours. That is exactly why the container accounts and stock figures are right at month-end without anyone searching.

    17:00, Invoicing

The day does not end with a pile but with a click: invoices are generated from the day's documented processes, weighing-slip numbers and documents attached, reverse-charge cases flowing into the DATEV export on the correct accounts. What is described here is not a promo film but a composite of daily life across the 70+ operations that run on the platform. The common thread is always the same: one system from order intake to invoice, and the paper stays gone. (As of: July 2026)
